Greater Soy Biodiesel Use  06/01/05 2:05:45 PM Printer Friendly VersionPrinter Friendly Version

U.S. agriculture is very likely to lead other economic sectors in the use of soy biodiesel, farm leaders of the soybean checkoff said.  United Soybean Chairman, Greg Anderson, after visiting a Virginia soy biodiesel manufacturing plant with Pres. Busch stated that,  “farmers and ranchers use nearly 3 billion gallons of petroleum diesel every year.”

Anderson said we could utilize close to 54 million gallons of soy biodiesel a year, simply by asking our fuel suppliers for just B2, which is a 2% blend of soy biodiesel with regular diesel.  That’s helping displace foreign oil used to make diesel, and it’s using U.S. soybean oil to make soy biodiesl from the equivalent of close to 40 million bushels of U.S. soybeans.”  Think of the impact we could make by increasing the percentage of soyoil that we are blending?!  Sunrise Ag is currently considering the possibiltiy of using 11% soy blended biodiesel in our company's fleet of diesel trucks.

Odd as it may seem there are still areas within the U.S. that don't offer soy biodiesel.  There are even some farmers who aren't using soy blended diesels.  Sunrise Ag is proud to offer any blend of soy biodiesel to our patrons.  We can add soyoil to your DieselexGold or your #2 diesel.  We have always supported “Home Grown Fuels", and pledge our continued support.  Sunrise Ag is pleased to be able to help support our soybean farmers, instead of foreign oil producers.
